IN MEMORIAM

                                        The news of Kevin

                                        Reid’s passing on

                                        September 21st has

                                        shaken our city. The

                                        loss of Kevin

                                        represents a great loss

to Savannah’s art community. He brought a unique perspective and a fresh voice to the city through his personal work and through his gallery, the Australian Aboriginal Art Gallery.

On Wednesday, September 28 we celebrated his life at a memorial service at the gallery (404 W. Broughton St.).

In lieu of flowers, Kari Reid, Kevin’s wife, has asked that donations be designated to ARC instead. Click the button below to donate.

ARC’s board and staff extend their condolences to the family and loved ones of Kevin Reid.

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

katherine sandoz captures color the way a lepidopterist captures a butterfly, the elegant catch and release. She’s comfortable with the
fleeting, the jouncy, the scary mysterious. Her work spans many disciplines, but all of it feels stolen from a dream.
Beneath the seemingly unruly surfaces of sandoz’ work, one finds evidence of the fields, fjords, forests and their inhabitants she studies so assiduously. As in nature, sandoz’ palette and application show reserve and ebullience
simultaneously. The analyst and the artisan create a pas de deux on the canvas.
