Program fee: $75 for members; $150 for visitors (includes one-year TLC membership). Add $25 to registrations after January 21.

Join The Learning Center for this exclusive lecture-and-tour program. A partnership between TLC and the Arts Resource Collective, this delightful afternoon combines a half-hour lecture and lunch with private tours of four artists’ studios. Artist and gallery owner Leslie Lovell distills years of experience, revealing secrets for the beginning collector and the seasoned veteran alike. After lunch, vans from Low Country Jaunts transport tour participants into the world of four artists’ studios. Working in a variety of media, these artists offer a glimpse of the spaces where they work and the processes by which they create their masterpieces. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged!

Lecturer: Leslie Lovell Tour Coordinator: Gale Steves

Leslie Lovell is a photographer and artist in her own right, as well as the owner of her well-established gallery – Roots Up – in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. She works regularly with clients who are just starting their own collections, and who are fine-tuning their already extensive holdings. Gale Steves is vice president of the Arts Resource Collective and the creator of the Savannah Art Map. She enjoys close relationships with many local artists. For ten years, she was editor-in-chief of Home magazine and is the author of Right-Sizing Your Home. Her move from New York City to a many-windowed home in downtown Savannah’s historic district forced many curatorial decisions about her own art collection.
